Where It Begins

9 ¾  x 12 ¾  inches • 60 numbered prints.  Hand set in Garamond and printed on Rives BFK with a hand-made linoleum cut image.  $30.

One day in winter I stood at a window in my studio wondering what to work on next.  I had been thinking of writing a prose poem and then creating some kind of image to go with it but my mind was wandering and I could not land on any specific idea.

I decided to give into that truth, not to push anything but to simply “be there” for a while.  The notion that eventually became this broadside then emerged, as if thoughtfully invited.
